Bitcoin Network Basics

A new Bitcoin block is mined roughly every 10 minutes.

Each block currently pays out a reward of 3.125 BTC (since the April 2024 halving).

That’s about 144 new blocks per day, or roughly 52,560 per year.

BlockForge miner vs. Bitcoin Network

BlockForge: operates at around 1 MH/s (1 million hash guesses per second).

Bitcoin network (as of Sept 2025): roughly 1.1 ZH/s (1.1×10²¹ guesses per second).
Meaning your Blockforge Miner accounts for about 1 in 1.1 quadrillion of the total network power for each block mined.

Probability Overview

Formula:

Pblock=HdeviceHnetworkP_{block} = \frac{H_{device}}{H_{network}}

Example using BlockForge miner:

  • Per block: ~1 in 1.1 quadrillion chance of finding a valid block.

  • Per day (~144 blocks): ~1 in 7 trillion chance.

  • Per year (~52,560 blocks): ~1 in 21 billion chance.

These odds can shift slightly as the Bitcoin network’s total hashrate changes, but for small individual miners like the BlockForge Miner, the chances remain incredibly rare—though still real.
